PROFESSIONAL
NANNIES
Professional nannies serve as primary caregivers
to children and have varying degrees of training.
Professional nannies typically have the Canada
Early Childhood Degree, British National Nursery
Exam Board training, or other certification from
their home countries.
The responsibilities of professional nannies
include ensuring that all physical and emotional
needs of the child are met, organizing educational
activities, preparing meals, and making sure the
child’s living quarters are tidy. In most
cases, professional nannies are not responsible
for general housekeeping.
Professional nannies are employed for both live-in
and live-out positions. Salaries vary depending
on level of education and work experience, though
a salary range from $1300 to $1800 net per month
is typical for live-in positions in the Greater Toronto Area. Live-out nannies can expect to earn from $2100 to $2500 net per month.
